Dying for a Wii-literally

  A woman trying to win a Nintendo Wii by joining a water-drinking contest sponsored by a Sacramento-area morning radio show died several hours after drinking too much water.

  From ABC News:

  Executives of KDND-FM posted a note on the station's Web site on Monday saying the "Morning Rave" show would remain off the air while the station investigates the death of 28-year-old Jennifer Lea Strange.

  Strange was one of about 18 participants who tried to win the system Friday by seeing how much water they could drink without going to the bathroom. The contest was called "Hold your Wee for a Wii."

  Strange drank nearly two gallons of water over two hours, according to a contestant. She was found dead several hours later. Preliminary autopsy findings indicated Strange died of water intoxication.

  The Wii is a wildly popular video game console, but it's hardly worth dying for. Apparently, the victim was trying to win the Wii for her kids. The same kids still don't have the Nintendo console, and now they've lost their mother. This is just plain sad.
