Famous men and plastic surgery

With the way the society has opened up its doors to plastic surgery, a number of famous men have already tried out going under the knife. Some are quite open about it while others still remain under the closet.

The most common procedures men avail in order to improve their looks are facelift, hair transplants, rhinoplasty, and body-contouring procedures such as tummy tuck and liposuction.

Below is a list of popular men who allegedly have work done on their face and body.

    1. Simon Cowell

The acerbic judge of the American Idol is quite open about his Botox use. Cowell, 48, did admit that he uses Botox in order to get rid of the frown lines. Not only that, the pop guru is also said to have had cosmetic dentistry. His pearly whites are said to be expensive veneers. Having a young model for a girlfriend definitely makes a guy want to look his best too.

    2. Silvio Berlusconi

Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi has admitted to having eyelid surgery to remove his eye bags. However, many speculated that he has had a full facelift because of the absence of major wrinkles on his face. He is also believed to have benefited from hair plugs, thanks to his non-receding hairline.

    3. Michael Jackson

While his plastic surgery journey is not something anybody would want to emulate, the Prince of Pop is undeniably one of those who have had the most number of surgical makeovers on his face. Sad to note that despite all those surgeries, MJ looks rather freaky after each operation.

    4. Peter Mandelson

Peter Mandelson is thought to have used Botox injections in order to soften his wrinkles. It also widely speculated that he used chemical peels to improve the texture of his skin and injectable fillers to define his cheeks. However, all these are denied by his spokesman.

    5. Pete Burns

The Dead or Alive singer has been used as an example of a botched lip augmentation surgery. Burns is claiming that the operation left him looking "like he had been mutilated with a Stanley knife. "

    6. Paul McCartney

Paul still looks great at 66. Rumors abound that he did something to rejuvenate his face but Paul just brushed them all off and denied every accusation.

  • I've Got Another One...

You can't forget everyone's favorite playboy, Hugh Hefner himself has had a fair amount of work done over the years. It's not just the viagra keeping him young. I work with a Glens Falls and Saratoga Springs cosmetic surgery practice and I have to say the number of men interested in plastic surgery is on the rise. Of course, most of the celebrities are having their work done in New York and Los Angeles, but regular guys are becoming more interested in "keeping up appearances," at least from what I've seen.

    We Can't All Be Celebrities

In addition to the celebs out there, let's not forget about all the guys (and ladies) who have a "career lift" to maintain a competitive edge in the workplace. I work with a plastic surgeon in Seattle - liposuction, face lift, and other enhancement procedures are common ways for guys to look like they did in their younger years so they can maintain that vitality and viability. If you're thinking about long-term solutions for enhancing your image, don't be shy about considering plastic surgery - thousands of guys have procedures every year.
