      This is not actually very surprising since that awesome Nintendo Wii came into view. But it is worth noting that Nintendo beat the hell out of Sony in the game sales department.

      PC World reports that results of an industry survey reveal that cumulative sales of software, hardware, and accessories amounted to a total of $838.6 million, a 20 percent increase over the April 2006 sales. And Nintendo dominates the hardware realm once more.

      We are in the days of open source where everything can be shared to the community free of charge. That's what drove Linux and all others to the top; providing the public with relevant and useful tools for free.

      This is also the age of user-generated content sites. Wikipedia, YouTube, and Flickr become big names out of this very basic principle. Users provide content while these sites host them and manage them in a way that they can be searched and used by others in a social networking fashion. Indeed, file sharing has never been this easy and exciting because of this highly effective and highly addictive method.

      Through the decades, Apple has been responsible for the most revolutionary hardware and gadgets that have taken over the world by storm. There was the iMac, which reinvented the personal computer. Then came the iPod, now practically the only way to listen to music while on the go nowadays.

      Now Apple has unveiled its latest innovation, which, just like its previous products, is poised to catch the imagination of every gadget freak in the world.

      Last Tuesday, Apple CEO Steve Jobs announced to the world the existence of the iPhone, a new-age smartphone with a 3.5-inch touch-screen he bills as "a widescreen iPod with touch controls, a revolutionary mobile phone, and a breakthrough Internet communications device."

      The year 2006 saw the advent of the latest video game consoles to hit the market. First, there was the Sony PlayStation 3, followed by the Nintendo Wii, which made its debut a few days later.
