Playboy founder Hugh Hefner is very much to getting plastic surgery. In fact, he is planning to go under the knife soon for a facelift. Now 81, Hefner believes that there is nothing wrong with men wanting to have plastic surgery as he already had a neck lift and teeth implants in the past.

"I'm thinking of having a little face-lift. There is nothing wrong with plastic surgery. I think it is absolutely fine for men - I have already had teeth implants, and a few years ago I had a neck tuck."

Hefner currently has three blonde girlfriends namely Holly Madison, Bridget Marquardt and Kendra Wilkinson. And with this huge responsibility, Hefner naturally has to find ways to look his best and be able to meet the demands of his companions.

Like most modern men to date, Hefner has no qualms about his plastic surgery plans, pretty much contradictory to how men view plastic surgery years ago. Men's attitudes about cosmetic surgery have dramatically changed through the years. They are now visiting the offices of plastic surgeons more frequently than ever before. The advent of metrosexuality has paved the way for these changes to transpire.

"We are dealing with a whole different set of things physically now because we live so much longer," says Hugh Hefner.

  • Hugh Cares

From what little I know about Hugh, he obviously has a passion for the finer looking things in life: he likes beautiful women; he lives in LA (land of the beautiful people); he knows his art and old (CLASSIC) movies; he knows jazz (the most complicated form of music). I, on the other hand, sort of know plastic surgery, because although I'm NOT a surgeon, I work with a plastic surgeon in Naples. You know what I see? More and more men seeking both surgical and non-invasive ways to look and feel younger. Don't believe me? Statistics don't like. In fact, according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, over one million procedures were performed on men in 2006. If Hugh adds his name to that list in 2007, he won't be alone... he never is. ;-)

    Get some

I agree with anonymous in that quite a few men today view male plastic surgery as an acceptable way to help them to look their best. I'm one of them! I was searching the web a while back for information about a laser treatment to treat broken blood vessels, and I came across a site called guy's guide to plastic surgery. Men interested in plastic surgery ought to check it out. The site didn't have any info on what I was looking for, but it did have quite a bit of info about the most popular procedures, like the facelift Hugh's considering. Btw, I saw in the news section of the site that plastic surgery for men was up over 17 percent in the U.K. between 2006 and 2007.

    Tighten Your Mandible, Man

I don't know who this Mike guy is, but he knows what he's talking about. All kinds of male cosmetic procedures are on the rise. I work with a Lake Forest plastic surgeon who performs a number of procedures for men who want facelift in Chicago and other facial plastic surgery like brow lift and eyelid surgery. In my opinion, it's not vain for men to want plastic surgery, and even if you're not Hugh Hefner (exceedingly few people are), it's still important to look good and feel attractive to your partner/wife/girlfriend/etc.
