Lamborghinis have always been eye candy for many supercar enthusiasts. From the Countach to the Diablo, the Italian car maker has always managed to dazzle us with new car designs that are nothing less than major feats of engineering.
At the LA Auto Show last week, Lamborghini has introduced the Murciélago LP640 Roadster, another supercar that's sure to catch our fancy. More details on this latest Lamborghini engineering marvel from The Car Connection:
Based on the LP 640 Coupe, the new model is striking in its asymmetrical design, adding new front and rear bumpers, as well as a new rear diffuser and taillights. But the classic Lamborghini gull-wing doors remain.
The interior is tailored to the driver and for those who can't push the 640-horsepower rocket to its limits, there are plenty of high-tech toys with which to keep occupied, including a Kenwood audio system with DVD, MP3, and a 6.5-inch video display.
The Roadster is powered by a 6.5-liter V-12 with 640 hp. The supercar sprints from 0-60 in just 3.4 seconds and hits a top speed of 205 mph. Like other Murcielago models, the open-top car features permanent four-wheel drive.
According to Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann, the company plans to build only 20 of this high performance supercar, which is believed will set a lucky buyer back by some $350,000.
