Along with D'Angelo and 50 Cent, hip-hop artist and occasional Hollywood actor LL Cool J is perhaps one of the buffest guys in the business. But he's been beset with speculations that he had to resort to taking steroids and undergoing plastic surgery to get those six-packs.

LL Cool J of course denies such rumors. Featured in the July 2006 issue of Ebony Magazine, the 38-year old rapper thus spake:

There have been a lot of questions, a lot of speculation. To be real frank, there are so many people speculating over what they think that I am doing. Is he doing steroids? Did he get plastic surgery?" he says. "It speaks more about the people who are making comments than it does about me. It tells me that they cheat and they're cheaters. They are not willing to make the sacrifices necessary, and go through the pain necessary, in order to get in the best shape they can possibly be. So they don't believe I would be willing to do it either. So it is really more about their weakness, and less about mine. It doesn't make me feel anything other than that it is unfortunate that people are weak like that. They are weak. It points out their flaws.

And just when you think he's sidestepping the issue by making such long-winded statements, he flat out denies the steroids and plastic surgery issues:

The reality is that I really do go into the gym, and I didn't have surgery, and I didn't do steroids. I really do work out hard, and I really do diet. I really did do it. I really did dunk.

So there. James Todd Smith III (so that's his real name!), Grammy Award winner, multiplatinum-selling recording artist and actor, isn't a steroid junkie, and didn't have plastic surgery. He got into that kind of physical shape by working hard. Attaboy....James Todd.

  • damn

damn he is so sexy and he will be my hubsand one day!!!!!

    Not so fast...

... he will be my husband (don't tell my current husband). Seriously, one thing to take away from this post is the notion of working out and plastic surgery. For instance:
    1. you can work out (and eat right) and see the results you wanted
    2. you can work out (and eat right) and still see pockets of problem fat, especially in the stomach. Thus preventing you from having LL-like six-pack abs.
So, what can you do? If you live in FL, you could see a plastic surgeon (like LL didn't) about liposuction in Miami. Of course, as I'm sure everyone here is well aware, you'll still have to exercise regularly and eat right to have the surgery (it's not for weight loss) and to keep the six-pack abs.
