Technorati Tags: tattoos, body art
There was a time when tattoos were frowned upon. Although some sectors of society still do, people with body art are starting to feel more comfortable showing off their tattoos in the workplace. Just like University of Kentucky librarian Colleen Harris, who is featured in this Associated Press report:

The most talked-about video game consoles-the existing Xbox 360 and the soon-to-be launched PlayStation 3 and Nintendo Wii-each contain its own set of features designed to catch the fancy of gamers. But in today's difficult times, it seems that the bottom line would be the price. The Philadelphia Inquirer quotes an AP report as saying:

Unless you've been living under a rock for the last fifty years, you've probably seen all Star Wars films. And chances are, you've seen at least three films twice. Three decades of Star Wars and everyone has either been entertained or annoyed by the myriad of characters George Lucas has foisted upon the movie-going public. Yoda. Darth Maul. Queen Amidala. Princess Leia. R2-D2. Darth Vader.
But can you imagine Mr. T, Tom Cruise, and Mahatma Gandhi as Yoda? Julia Roberts as Princess Leia? Or Rowan Atkinson (yep, Mr. Bean himself) as Darth Vader? The guys who did these pictures over at Worth1000.com obviously can, and the results are nothing less than hilarious and at times awesome.
"Eat your vegetables, kids".
How many times have we heard our moms say those words? Most kids hate eating veggies, comparing it to munching on grass. But over the years, a number of studies on the benefits of "munching on grass" apparently prove our mothers right. And a new study published just this week just drives that point further home.
The Seattle Post-Intelligencer reports that a new study published in the medical journal Neurology reveals that consuming vegetables keep the brain young, and slow mental decline in aging people.

The expression "flashing your pearly-whites" may hold true for some people, but far too many people just can't lay claim to having them. This is the reason why many resort to using teeth whitening products sold in stores and in dentists' offices, to spruce up their smiles.
The question is, do they work? Apparently, they do, at least briefly.
CBS News cites a WebMD report on the review conducted by University of Michigan School of Dentistry Hana Hasson and her colleagues of 25 studies on at-home tooth-whitening products.

South Korean men are slowly making their mark on the plastic surgery market. The Associated Press has this to say about the matter:
Technoarti tags: Tara Reid, plastic surgery, celebrity plastic surgery Tara Reid has already confessed to having plastic surgery to correct previous plastic surgery procedures. But with the numerous scars these operations have left her with, the American Pie star still has miles to go on the road to recovery. And she's starting out on that road by turning to high-tech oxygen treatments.

They stink, and eating them puts us at risk for contaminants like mercury and dioxins. And they reduce our overall risk for developing heart disease. Take your pick.
Two new government-sponsored reports released Tuesday said these things about fish, and then concluded that the benefits of eating more fish outweigh the risks.

There are a lot of reasons why you should go for a board certified plastic surgeon to perform whatever cosmetic surgery procedure you want done. This is just one of them.

The video game console war is starting to heat up.
With the Sony PlayStation 3 and the Nintendo Wii hitting the market next month, which video game console do you think will hard-core gamers go for?
The PS3 may have the upper hand, with "PlayStation" being already a household word. But not a few people say that the Wii has what it takes to take on PS3 as well as the Microsoft Xbox 360, and more.

Now this is just so wrong.
Because of the lack of dental services in her area, a 65-year-old woman from Uralla, in north-eastern New South Wales performed self-dentistry on herself, and pulled one of her own teeth with nose pliers.

A survey conducted by a magazine recently revealed that British men would rather go for women with natural breasts than those who have had boob jobs, which they say are a "complete turn-off".

At present, a number of hair restoration procedures are already in place, most of which have produced a number of satisfied patients. But the British Government has shown its willingness to further push the envelope in the fight against male pattern baldness and alopecia in women with its decision to grant a 1.85-million pound grant to a UK biotech company that is developing a robot designed to grow hair follicle cells.

While working out, it is common among both men and women to try to push their limits, whether it's adding another hour to their treadmill time or doing heavier weights. Naturally, the exercisers who do this do so to the point of exhaustion. Most of us think that pushing our limits gives us better results, but a new study reveals that heavy-duty workouts may impair fertility in men.

Plastic surgery has added to its list of happy and satisfied patients two U.S. Marines who have suffered seemingly irreparable wounds while in action in Iraq.
U.S. Marine Sergeants Oscar Canon and Douglas Hayenga were both wounded in Iraq. Canon suffered major leg injuries in an ambush, while Hayenga survived a mortar attack in Fallujah that killed four others and left him with a shattered tibia that was within medical guidelines for amputation.

At the height of Communist rule in Russia, the only cars that worked Moscow's streets were probably the Zil limousines for Party officials and a handful of cheap but privately owned cars. But with the demise of Communism, many Russians have struck it rich, some of them through oil. With their newfound wealth, many have turned to splurging on luxury cars, making them a common sight in the streets of the Russian capital.
Technorati Tags: Bruce Potts, Tattoos, tattoo artist, body art
Getting tattoos is not exactly the most comfortable thing in the world. Whether you like it or not, engaging a tattoo artist to do your body art will always be a painful proposition, what with the repeated jabs of needles done all throughout the procedure. This is why people who get tattoos are often perceived to be really tough. Think Dennis Rodman and you'll get an idea.
But as far as toughness in the face of tattoos goes, Rodman has nothing on this University of New Mexico teacher whose thing for tattoos led him to have his entire head covered with intricate tattoo designs. Next to Bruce Potts, Rodman, with all his tattoos and piercings, would seem like a schoolgirl. See his photo to see why.
Technorati Tags: Eva Longoria, celebrity plastic surgery, cosmetic surgery
Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria has become an addition to the list of Hollywood actresses who swear they will never have plastic surgery, ever.
But unlike the rather condescending stand taken by Kate Beckinsale against those who have had plastic surgery, Eva says she'll never go under a cosmetic surgeon's knife for one reason only: she's deathly afraid of needles.
Technorati Tags: Scarlett Johansson, celebrity plastic surgery, rhinoplasty
The sexiest woman alive is apparently no stranger to plastic surgery after all.
Scarlett Johansson, voted the sexiest woman in the world by readers of FHM magazine, looks every inch an all-natural vixen, from that ample bosom to those lovely lips of hers. But look at this series of pictures over at Starfruit Gossip and you'll see the obvious evolution of her nose. And this evolution couldn't be natural.
Technorati Tags: breast implants, breast augmentation, silicone implants
Remember that fight scene from Scary Movie 2 where one of the characters gets her butt kicked into the wall, but saves herself by inflating her breasts (presumably with implants) to absorb the impact? This one is a little something like that. This time, breast implants save a lady's life-for real.
