With a proven top speed of over 250 mph, the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 is currently the fastest street-legal production car in the world.

But once British car maker Bristol finally commences production of its supercar, the Fighter T, the Veyron will soon find itself eating the Bristol supercar's dust, that is, if press surrounding the car are true.

    Auto Trader tells us more:

The Fighter T is powered by a twin turbocharged and intercooled 8-litre V10 engine, which produces 1012bhp and 1036 lb/ft of pulling power.

Bristol claims the T can sprint from 0-60mph in less than 3.5 seconds, accelerating all the way to a Bugatti Veyron beating 270mph. However, it will be electronically limited to 225mph.

Its six-speed gearbox enables the supercar to hit 60mph in first.

It's touted as a car, but it might as well be a fighter jet.
