With skyrocketing oil prices and the world's dwindling oil supply, scientists and inventors are working at warp speed to find solutions to the problems an inevitable worldwide gas shortage would surely present.
Apparently, a British inventor has already found one.
According to a Scotsman.com news article over the weekend, a 45-year old inventor by the name of Andy Green claims he has built a car that can do 8,000 miles to the gallon.
Green created the three-wheel, 10-foot long vehicle as an entry to the Shell Eco-Marathon, a global search for the world's most fuel-efficient car to be held in France later this month. The inventor claims his invention, which is capable of reaching 60mph, can cover ten miles on just one teaspoon of unleaded fuel.
Now that's fuel efficiency with a capital F.
We guys love cars that are either sleek or powerful. More often than not, the mere sight or mention of cars such as the Corvette, the Ferrari or the Lamborghini Diablo make us wet our collective pants.
Sadly, most of these cars are gas guzzlers. And what good are they if, in the not-too-distant future, there's barely enough petrol to get them on the road?
Never mind the hot babes that sports or muscle cars tend to attract. I'd take a car that I could drive from New York to Los Angeles and back, on one gallon of gas, anytime.
