Not all men are created equal. There are those who are born with handsome looks and amazing physique, and there are those who seemed to have lost the genetic lottery. While society considers being lean as attractive, there are some men who are struggling with their skinny frames. Well, nobody says being too thin is desirable, unless you are a girl who wants to look like a starved supermodel.

If you belong to the skinny male group, don't fret. You can bulk it up with some regular weight-lifting sessions, and a protein diet. But if you can't wait that long, there are fashion tips that you can practically apply in order to achieve a visual illusion of being larger and bigger that you truly are.

1. Dress in layers

More clothes means more mass. Dressing in layers will help you achieve that 'large' or 'bulky' look that you need for your thin frame. Just make sure you choose the right color combos so you look stylish and sophisticated as well.

2. Choose blazers with small shoulder padding

This is done in order to give your upper body a more muscular look. But don't overdo it. Just go for a small shoulder padding. Opting for a bigger padding might make you look cheap, or worse, funny.

3. Stay away from slim-fitting shirts

Well, I guess the reason is obvious. Unless you want to showcase your small ribcage, you might want to stay away from tight-fitting shirts. Just choose one that is just right for your frame, leaving a considerable amount of space on your midsection.

4. Wear turtlenecks and crewnecks

Wear turtlenecks and crewnecks in order to add bulk to your frame. Avoid V-necks or open-collared shirts, since they tend to emphasize your neck and bony features.

5. Choose horizontal stripes

If you like striped clothing, make sure you choose horizontal lines for shirts, as they tend to add volume to your look. You appear wider and larger in a horizontally striped shirt, and you can add other accents and accessories to pull of the trick even better. You can even layer it with other clothes that have the common colors or designs. Mix and match for your utmost advantage.
