Wii Or PS3?

The video game console war is starting to heat up.

With the Sony PlayStation 3 and the Nintendo Wii hitting the market next month, which video game console do you think will hard-core gamers go for?

The PS3 may have the upper hand, with "PlayStation" being already a household word. But not a few people say that the Wii has what it takes to take on PS3 as well as the Microsoft Xbox 360, and more.

What makes Wii stand out is its major feature, the Wii Remote, which may be used as a handheld pointing device. Best of all, the remote can detect motion and rotation in, ahem, three dimensions. That means you can play a golf game on it like you would on a course, and hit a homerun like you were in Yankee Stadium. In other words, it would definitely be a lot more fun to play.

Of course, we still have to wait for November 19 before we could finally get our hands on this much-hyped console and confirm everything we've heard and read about it. Till then, we have to rely on lucky guys like Daniel Terdiman, Staff Writer for CNET News.com, who tells us what it's like to play on the Wii. Here's how he sums the Wii up:

Anyway, I walk away from my time with the Wii feeling pretty good about the machine. Egan keeps reminding me that what I was playing with wasn't production-ready, and that actually makes me feel even better about it. And more like it's the next-gen console I would most want to own myself.

From the looks of things, a lot more people would feel the same way. And its $250 tag price (compare that to Xbox's $499 and the PS3's whopping $599) just makes things easier for the rest of us.
