It is not something that would give you a migraine, but it is indeed quite a problem when tattoos start to lose their appeal. In fact, if those hearts, flowers, snakes or whatever marks you had your tattoo artist painted on your body start to annoy rather than amuse, you might as well start thinking of ways on how to get rid of them.

After enduring the painful process of getting those now regrettable marks from a licensed tattoo artist, you are now finding ways to get rid of these body marks and hope that you don't have to go through a painful (again?) solution to address the dilemma.

Good thing there is indeed a painless way to tattoo removal. Rank My Tattoos provides an article that talks about a wonder cream that can successfully remove tattoos within a couple of weeks. Here is what the article has to say:

The makers of Wrecking Balm boast of their magical product: a cream that causes your tattoo to fade away. The process requires a system of physical tissue deconstruction along with the cream as well as botanical chemical peels.

However, the main factors one must consider before jumping on the bandwagon are the ink density, depth, surface size, and color of the tattoo. In order to be successful with the cream, you must use it consistently for weeks to get any type of results. After a few weeks, your body's ability to renew surface cells becomes stronger and the skin will be regenerated, causing the tattoo to fade.

Now that's absolutely a painless method to fade those tattoos away. If your tattoos are qualified for removal based on the criteria given, then you are on your way to freedom from those now unsightly marks. And with the cost of $150 and a money-back guarantee, it's absolutely pain-free and worry-free. If this isn't the best deal ever, I don't know what else to call this.

  • wrecking balm

Hi .. I have been researching wrecking balm for about 2months now and i'm not quite sure whether or not it would work or not... If anyone thats reading up on this right now and has used this product.. please email me at my friends email.. its or write me back a comment on here telling me the results you've received from using it... i cant really tell if it sounds real or not and it would be a big help 2 know from somebody.. thankz alot...

    Information

I have been checking out many sites since I am a tattoo artist that has plenty of work doing covers for those poor few that have decided to get a tattoo done "On the cheep"!
I was curious about the Salt method that the guy used on his TATTOO? Could anyone link any findings on this method of removale.
As a Tattoo artist I only have 2 sugestions for my clients "profesional Laser removal" or a "Cover job".
I have tried 2 diffrent creams before just to try them out and have found them to be bogus.
The only other method that I have found is a product called E-RAZE which is supposed to be applied by a Tattoo artist but my questions on this product went unanswered when I asked them on the official website?

    I love the internet

Because with out it, I may have tied up my money in a stupid scam and tried the free trial crap. I really didn't have high hopes about this to begin with but i figured it was worth checking out. As for the salt water thing, that dude is also lying. My fiance worked in a tattoo shop and tried to erase one with saltwater, saline, alcohol, and a mixture of everything.. he put it in just like recieving a tattoo and nothing.. the only thing that will work is laser surgery. I kinda figured that out the second i went to the website and saw that there were no ingredients listed and the doctor isnt a real doctor.. shitty

    wrecking balm

Wrecking Balm is a scam and, although they say you can recieve a full refund, they make you jump through hoops to get your money back and then charge your credit card again and maintain you have agreed to it.... Then they tell you that you get your money back in 30 to 60 days upon recieving the product back, or get half of your money back withing five days if you just keep it.. It is clear they are ripping people of and I am really surprised they have gotten away with it to date.. If you would like to try this product, tell them you will pay when it works.... I am sure they will not agree and use there high pressure sales tactics to obtain your credit card info.. Good luck.. By the way laser is expensive and hurts but it works..

    Another option

I called Wrecking Balm today just to get a price and almost had to hang up on the guy. I started researching and found a method that seems like it works, is not as expensive as laser, looks pretty ugly for a few weeks at a time, but seems like it works pretty good without scarring. It's called Rejuvi in the USA. What it is is a cream that is tattooed into your old tat. The cream binds to the ink, which your skin then rejects and it comes to the surface of the skin and forms a big thick scab. The scab falls off like 2 weeks later and your tattoo should be lightened. They say it takes about 3-4 treatments to completely remove the tat. They say it costs like $125 to $300 per treatment (small area). Check it out. You can find pics if you Google it.

    removal by salt

Actually if you have a small tattoo or if you really like pain and you dont want to spend more than five bucks and you think scares are cool then this is def. the method for you. take a cup of salt, cup of water, something hard bottle top, piece of wood(anything small)and wrap gaze around it. wet you tat. first. Then dip thing with gaze in water then in salt get off extra salt and rub the shit out of your tat. repeat salt if needed. rub in a circular motion (or if you find a better way whatever)and keep going till your skin gets a deep red color looks bloody but not bleeding. then clean it up might have to repeat in a couple weeks depending on how dark or deep. Beware it'll get pus and goopy for a week no worries your see a difference. ta-da

    "Perminent Mistake" Guy

Ummm..I'm pretty sure that you probably got some shitty tribals with your frat buddies back in 98' and feel shitty about it. As for the rest of us with GOOD tattoos, we are not "twisted" or whatever you think. Take your generalizations and shove them up your non virgin ass you shit head.

    Wrecking-Balm

I called the phone # from the site after hearing the glories of wrecking ball from Sirius radio. I listened to the 10 min. shpiel of how this "incredible proprietary poroduct will be much cheaper and effective than anything else on the market." I thanked the person on the phone, and said that I plan to do additional research before my purchase. My efforts in being a wise consumer were not appreciated by the WreckingBalm phone jerk off. I was told repeatedly not to waste my time, only at that moment could I take advantage of the promotional pricing (which of course is the same every call), and that if I really want to get rid of this tattoo that I had to buy the product and start immediately. I eventually had to hang up on him as he turned in to a hard selling broken record. Thanks for the insight that the product is BS- I will stay away.

    twisted? I think not.

That cornball that said: Tattoos are a perminate mistake

I have two small self made tattoos that I would like to remove. After reading some of the blogs I've decided to use a belt sander and grind them off. Hey, it worked for Russell Crow in the movie Gladiator. I did my tattoos when I was young and foolish. I despise the look of them. People who cover their bodies with tattoos have major emotional trama in their twistewd lifes. Nothing cool about getting any tattoos, regardless of their size. As for Wrecking Balm, I'll wait till something has been approved by the FDA until I buy into it's claim. Sounds like another overly priced scam invention.

You're an a**hole! I agree with aresinks. You need to learn how to spell properly, and think about how contradicting you are. You are such a hypocrite it makes me sick. You think you know why everyone else gets tattoo. Just because you were in your personal sick and twisted phase doesn't mean everyone else was right along with you. It's like pot calling the kettle black here. And as I recall you stated that you have "self-made" tattoos. What idiot wants to do their own damn tattoos and not get them professionally done? I mean you have to be stupid, because you can get staph that way.Idiotically you stated you want to just sandpaper your tatts off? Your the sick person here...moving on, I'm done ranting about the village idiot.

    Removal

I tried tattooing in lemon juice and it significantly faded my not so spectacular tattoos. It took some of the ink right out in places. I only had to do it twice on some of them.

There's TatGoneInk that I want to try too. You tattoo it in and it absorbs the ink and brings it to the surface and is expelled...I guess it's fairly new.

    Tat removal

I've used the "salt & lemon juice" method before...
basically mix some lemon juice and salt together and scrub like hell on the tat ya want removed..hurts like hell for a few minutes - and scabs up very ugly and almost black BUT it does make the tat almost disappear...if not wait until it heals and do it again..it basically works by opening the skin (salt) and diluting the ink (lemon juice) which when the scab forms the ink has bled up to the surface.

    Get rid of tattoo

All you need to do is take a steak knife to the area, slice it out. it sounds crude and painfull but the tat goes away and the healing time is quicker than you think

If it werent for this site id be out money

Im glad i stumbled on this site before i blew my money on what appears to be crap. as for the guy claiming all tat owners have issues your a dumb ass. And the whole salt thing is not smart salt and water chemical reaction traumatizes the skin and tissue in the area around where you apply it. While it may get rid of already light ink its not a smart or safe idea at all.

6 monthes to a year is a true test of if it works

6 monthes to a year is a true test of if it works

I have not seen any one who has used this stuff for a year or more with negative results and I understand this stuff takes time for the larger tats (1 to 4 monthes isnt enough to give up on results) (results may vary, Hmm, I geuss that the outcome is differnt for every one,and could take a little more time)

I too Love Tats and feel that they are an external expression of who I am but some times artists do make mistakes and that my friends doesnt wear well.

I say if you truely want results you should try it for 6 monthes to a year then post your comments here.

    6 months to a year???

You must be the company president!

Exactly 30 days as of today.....

I have been using Wrecking Balm for exactly 30 days as of today and let me tell you that my tattoo is definitly not anywhere near being gone. However, it has lightened a very very minimal amount and it may have potential but if I don't see a more signifigant change in the next 20-30 days it will definitly be going back. I just hope and pray that it is not a nightmare to return like that other person commented.

    laser question

I've had laser treatments for hair removal and it has burned my skin (to the point of water blisters). I can't imagine getting any better results if they are using a laser to remove a tattoo. For those of you who have had laser treatments to remove tattoos, has it burned the skin? What condition is the skin after a treatment.

    Wrecking Balm Sux

What a complete and utter waste of money!!! I have seventeen tattoo's that have been collected from all over the world. I decided to try this product out because I am an airline pilot and have several highly visible tattoo's that I am required to keep covered with long sleeves. Though the stewardess' think they are neat (and has gotten me in the mile high club four times now), my passengers are not allowed to see them. I have been trying wrecking balm for some time now, but versus using my supply for all seventeen tattoos, I have opted to use it on only one so I could get an idea of how much would be required to remove all of my tat's. Unfortunately at this rate I still have seventeen tattoo's and am out a few hundred bucks for something that doesn't work at all. Buyers beware!!!!!! Wrecking Balm is a rip off. Save your money and go for what really works---lasers.

    Wrecking balm

The skin is made of three integrated layers. These are the epidermis, dermis and subcutis, also known as the overskin, skin and underskin. The epidermis is the thinnest of the three layers, at most about a mm or the thickness of 7 sheets of paper. Its thickness does vary over different parts of the body.
As in all tissue the skins basic unit is the cell. The epidermis (top layer) is woven of three kinds of cells- keritinocytes, melanocytes and Langerhans cells. Langerhans cells aid the bodys immune system by intercepting alien material in the skin.
In the epidermis itself, four distinct layers mesh together to build a hard skin surface. The bottom three layers form the "stratum germinativum" which produces an armour of tough, dead cells for the fourth, the corneal layer.
At the bottom of the epidermis lies the basal layer where mitosis, cell division, supplies the epidermis with millions of new cells every day. The corneal layer is made of dead epidermal cells averaging 20 deep.
Deeper in the dermis lie the reticular layer. Embeddid in this layer, junctions of blood vessels control blood circulation through the skin.
Joined to the bottom of the dermis, subcutaneous tissue is the deepest layer of the skin. This fatty layer cushions muscles, bones and internal organs against shocks.
A tattoo is the placement of pigments between the dermis and subcutis to stain the skin for permanent decpration.
The modern tattoo machine vibrates at approx 60 times per second, (50 in Europe) where steel needles open the skin and deposit metal-based pigments. The reason that the body does not expell the pigments as it does a splinter, for example, is that the pigments are inert, and do not react with the body's chemistry. In effect, the body does not even know that the pigment is there.
Tattoo owners sometimes regret their adornment and want their tattoos removed. The pigments used today are so physiologicaly inert that they cannot be coaxed out of the dermis without destroying the skin and forcing it to replace itself. The simplest method is to inflame the skin over the tattoo with caustic chemicals, (salt etc.). In the healing process, layers of pigment are sloughed off along with the damaged layers of skin. A scar remains.
Tattoos that are small may be removed through cyrosurgery, (freezing tissue to death) and laser both of which still leave some visible scarring.
The warning page on the Wrecking Balm site clearly states that the balm should not be used on damaged skin.
Since the pigment is not in the epidermis itself, it is highly unlikely that lightening the skin will have any effect on the actual tattoo which is basicaly under the skin, other than to make it more visible.
If a tattoo is home done and very shallow, it might have the desireable effect, but most professionally done tattoos will not be affected. This is also true with most laser removals, which work much better on home done tattoos which have a much lower concentration of pigments deposited at a much shallower depth.
IMHO I would save my money, and have the offending tattoo removed professionally, where there is a guarantee of safety and results. Better yet is to have the tattoo repaired or covered by another tattoo at a licenced tattoo studio.

    Tat removal...

Thanks for all the really usefull info, I was thinking about using a cream (acid?) and have thankfully been put off, and decided to look into laser removal, even if its more expensive at least people recomend it. I may get a coverup after my tats have faded, got a few ideas. Remember not to feel bad about your tat, its oart of you, but you can change it!

    Laser Treatments

I had a laser treatment done about a year ago and please be aware of the possibility of scarring. I had 5 tattoos in different places and had one treatment on each. The result was scarring that is worse than the tattoos. I now have raised scars in the shape of the tattoo without the ink, which I am told will never become smooth. Just think about it carefully.

    laser treatment

Question to the last Anonymous (9:33, Dec 11) what type of laser treatment did you have that produced the scarring? I'm thinking of laser and know there are several types. Actually, I was thinking of Wrecking Balm until I found this site-Not anymore. Anyone with laser treatment experience, please advise.

    Laser treatments on fingers

For those of u that are thinking about laser and have tatoos on your fingers watch out because it hurts i have been threw 6 treatments it works good & are disapering but its painful in that area, i also had a tatoo on my chest and that did even hurt as much as your fingers

    Thanks

I'm glad to have found this site. The Stern show ads had me convinced this was the product for me, but I'll just stick with the cover up I guess. Baba Booey to you all!

    Laser versus cream

I have spent well over $5000 on removing a panther tat on my arm......and it discolored my arm......I am of mixed race and I have a caramel toned skin color......where my tattoo was and might I add still is I now have white patches.....I also want to add that I did the laser thing for almost 2 years at $400 a session....I went once a month....anyway my point is if your thinking on spending any kind of money to have you tats removed I think anything is wroth a shot....my husband just went and bought me some of this cream so I hope it works on what is left of my tattoo...

    So how come..

For those of you who are looking to get your tats removed, particularly the gentleman above with the panther image, may I ask why? I can see if you had the name of an ex, or something racist, but why would you get rid of a fairly innocuous tattoo of a panther?

I have a couple, and while I'm not looking to get rid of them, I'm curious why one would bother spending $4000 doing so. The way I look at it, I probably won't like them when I'm older, but once I am, will it really matter all that much?

    TattooRemoval/Wrecking Balm

I heard about this in a radio ad and was suspicious when the website didn't give a price. I found a product on Inkbusters.com called TCA-anyone heard of it???? I have four tattoos, only want to be rid of one, but REALLY want it gone. Glad I found you all!

    Thanks!

I was ready to buy this product, but thanks for all the posts- I will now be saving up for some laser treatments. I really appreciate it!

    thanks

Thanks for saving me LOTS of money on a product that doesn't work. Using the Internet was a much cheaper way to find that out.
